1Introduction
What is High Climb?
It's an app that lets everyone "visualize" gym problems together. AI detects holds from photos of the wall so you can register problems, and you can keep your attempts and videos alongside them. Even at gyms that aren't officially onboarded yet, you can be the first user to create and run things.
The core features are free, and for 30 days after you sign up you can also use the features of the Light plan for free. Just log in with a Google or Apple account to get started.
How to use it based on your gym's registration status
How you use the app depends on whether your gym is already registered or you're about to register it. Read the chapter that matches your situation.
2When your gym exists
Find a gym
Nearby gyms appear in a list based on your location, with nearby events shown above it. Add the gyms you visit often to your Favorite Gyms, and their announcements and new problems appear in your activity, with a notification too.
You can log attempts while you're within 500m of the gym. While you have a record at that gym for the day, you can log from anywhere.

Find problems
The problem list is split into two types: "Gym problems" and "Community problems." Switch grades with the chips at the top of the list. Filters narrow by wall, setter, labels, and status (Unattempted, In progress, Sent). Open a problem to see its holds, recent attempt videos, and the memo written by the problem's creator. You can also keep a Personal note that only you can see (Light plan or higher).
- Gym problems
- The gym's permanent problems. Grade and set information follow the gym's settings.
- Community
- Problems that any user can freely register and post. Combine the holds on the same wall to publish your own original problem.

Record attempts
Log Fail / Zone / Send per problem with one tap. At the bottom of the problem screen, set the number of tries and tap the result. A send on your first try is logged as a Flash. Today's tries appear as marks by result, and you can edit or delete them later.
Attempts you log are automatically linked to that day's activity.

Keep videos
Shoot with the camera button at the bottom of the problem screen, choose the result, and post it to the problem. You can trim it before posting, or tap "Post later" to post it afterwards. Videos are grouped by problem and in your own video history, so you can use them to review your moves.
How many videos you can look back on and how long they are kept depend on your plan. See Plans for details.

3When your gym doesn't exist
Create a gym
When no nearby gym appears in the list, you can create a new one yourself. Once you register the basic information such as gym name, address, and business hours, anyone can then edit it to add walls and problems.
For gym owners: if you'd like to transfer and operate it as an official gym, please see the For Gym Owners page.
Register problems from a wall photo
Photograph the whole wall with the camera and the holds are detected automatically. Tap to select the holds, enter grade and setter info, and save.
If a hold's outline isn't detected well, trace it with your finger to add or remove the area.
With Bulk hold detection, one wall photo gives you a set of problem candidates. Merge nearby colors and save the candidates one by one as drafts.
Outside official gyms, bulk adding is limited to 5 times per month per gym (adding problems one at a time is always available).

Get your friends using it
The problems you register become visible to other climbers who frequent the gym. Aim to complete all the gym problems, or create your own community problems to explore new possibilities. The ways to play on the same wall multiply.
4Reviewing your records
Calendar
See your attempts, sends, and gym visits by week, month, or year, with a progress chart and sends by grade. Pick a past day on the calendar to see where you climbed and what you logged, or an upcoming day to see the climb plans for that day.
How far back you can look depends on your plan. See Plans for details.

5Activity
Connect with friends
The sessions and sends of the friends you follow, plus announcements and new problems from your Favorite Gyms, flow into your activity feed. From a profile, you can also see that person's per-gym results and grade distribution.
You can turn what you climbed into a highlight image and share it on social media.

6Etiquette & good to know
Filming etiquette
When filming inside a bouldering gym or facility, please follow the facility's rules and etiquette.
- If other users might appear in the shot, get their permission in advance or take sufficient care to avoid capturing them.
- Please refrain from posting content that includes other people's faces or personally identifiable information without permission.
- If a facility prohibits filming, please do not use the filming feature within that facility.
Inappropriate posts may be removed by the gym operator or by us. For details, please see the Terms of Service.
How skill rating works
This app automatically calculates a skill value from the grades of the problems you've climbed and your results on them (send, no send, number of tries). It's used to estimate problem difficulty and visualize your growth. Ratings are shown per gym and recalculated once a day at a set time. On the Free plan, you can see the rating for only the one gym where you have the most records.

- Because the rating is calculated automatically, users cannot manually change the value.
- It is reference information only and does not guarantee the safety of your climbing. Please act at your own responsibility.
How location data is used
This app uses location data only with the user's permission. It is obtained only while the app is in the foreground (displayed on screen), and we do not track your location in the background.
- Displaying nearby gyms (calculating distance from your current location)
- Checking your distance when you log an attempt (confirming whether you're within a 500-meter radius of the gym; while you have a record at that gym for the day, the distance is not checked)
Even if you don't allow the use of location data, you can still use the main features other than nearby gym display and the distance check when logging an attempt. For details, please see the Privacy Policy.
